Dave Carter
August 13, 1952 - July 19, 2002
On July 19, 2002, the folk music community suffered the great loss of Dave Carter, a songwriter/performer who died before his time. Dave and his partner Tracy Grammer were one of the most harmonious folk performers that I have ever heard. I listened to their album, Drum Hat Buddha and became an instant fan. I had only had the opportunity to see the duo perform live once at the Bottom Line in April 2002, but I was instantly mesmerized by Dave's enchanting lyrics and the duo's stage presnce. The following pictures were taken by me during the Dave Carter Tribute at Falcon Ridge on Saturday, July 27, 2002 during the time that Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer were originally scheduled to perform. At the tribute, several performers, including Tracy, took the stage to perform Dave's wonderful and magical songs. (Click on each picture for a larger image).
